Tools of the Trade

As with most art forms an artist works with a medium, and has tools to shape the medium in to the form he or she is trying to create. This is where the Artistry comes in to play. Choosing the right tool for the mental picture to become a tangible entity for others to see. Here at Cool Water we have a very large toolbox to make it happen.

We want to sit down with you and listen to you as you describe the vision in your mind. Then as you paint your image vocally we can discuss how we can bring it in to reality beyond the scope of what words are capable of describing. The mediums we offer in our photographic work are large, medium, 35mm, panoramic, digital and for the nostalgic look we even offer pinhole and Holga. We can encompass this all in VIDEO as well. Every format has advantages and disadvantages and we at Cool Water know what format is going to work best for your mental picture to become the eye catching add in the magazine, corporate news letter, the framed print to hand down through the generations, or what ever your end result may be. The choices in formats are much as the style of canvas a painter may use, and the lens is much akin to the painter’s brush. A lens has the ability to distort what the eye sees. We have a large variety of lenses to choose from, and we use them in a way that creates the uniqueness and style you are seeking. As we listen to you we are already choosing what lens is going to work best for your vision before we ever try to preserve your moment in time.

Here at Cool Water we have the equipment to handle most any job. The tool we consider our utmost is the tool of communication. We will listen to what you say, discuss some of our own ideas, but we will not forget the vision that prompted you to call us to begin with.
